NYOW has the distinction of being the first national youth orchestra in the world. It combines traditional expectations with a contemporary outlook and develops a first-class training experience into performances that are full of energy and passion.
Entry Requirements
The NYOW is for young people up to and including 21 years, from Wales. The minimum standard for all instruments (except harp) is Grade VIII. The minimum standard for harp is Grade VI. Candidates must be nominated by their local county/regional music service by completing an official application form; forms are distributed via the county music services and are also available from the NYOW from June each year.
